Chuo-dori / head upstairs for figures

One of my regular price-comparison stops for pre-owned ONE PIECE and other popular anime figures. Worth checking before you commit to a find elsewhere.

Shop picks are based on Taku’s guide and figure hunts. Stock, prices, opening hours, and condition vary. Check the exact item before buying.

02 / A FEW LOCAL SHOPPING HABITS

Small tricks.
A smarter hunt.

A shop name is a starting point. Knowing what to look for makes the shelves much more interesting.

01

Start with
prize figures.

Looking for a smaller-budget souvenir? Start with prize figures — the kind originally offered as arcade prizes. Shops also sell them directly, so you can buy the figure you want.

LOOK FOR: “PRIZE FIGURE”
02

No box?
Take another look.

“Loose” or “no box” items can be priced lower than boxed copies. If the packaging isn’t important to you, they’re worth comparing — after checking the figure and its parts.

箱なしNO BOX

Less packaging does not automatically mean the same condition.

03

Compare the figure.
And the fine print.

Before comparing two price tags, check that it’s the same release, opening status, and box condition. A cheaper tag can come with a different condition.

未開封UNOPENED

Pre-owned can include unopened items. Check the label on each one.

YOU NOW KNOW A FEW PLACES TO GO.

Now, what happens
when you find the one?

“Can I see it out of the case?”“Is this one unopened?”“Will the box fit in my suitcase?”

That’s where the full handbook comes in. Keep these free shop picks here — and take the practical shopping help with you.

Before you go.

Can I use the free shop list without buying?

Yes. The four shop picks and local tips on this page are free to read. The full handbook is an optional, paid PDF.

What happens after I buy the handbook?

Complete payment through Shopify. A download link is automatically emailed after purchase. Save the PDF to your phone before your trip.

Is it only for ONE PIECE fans?

No. The guide includes practical figure-shopping help for anime fans more broadly, along with Taku’s regular bargain-hunting stops.

Will this guarantee a cheaper figure?

No. Stock, prices, condition, and shop policies change. Use the guide to compare and ask better questions; it is not a live stock or price tracker.
